Neem

This tree of the mahogany family is native to the Indian subcontinent but has spread widely across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The tree typically grows to 15 metres and has toothed leaflets that are usually evergreen.

It is widely renowned for its medicinal uses and benefits, including its high calcium and mineral content, as well as its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also used to treat and prevent fevers and malaria, and as an insecticide and birth control. The bark is used for dental health. In AYURVEDIC medicine, it is used as a blood cleanser.

It is a staple herb in traditional Khmer cuisine. The plant has a strong bitter taste.
