Lemongrass

This tropical aromatic plant, native to Southeast Asia, closely resembles citronella and is commonly used in cuisine for its numerous benefits, including its relaxing aroma and antibacterial properties, which may support digestion.

This low-maintenance plant grows in long, spiky leaves that can reach up to 2.5 metres.

Citral, a compound found in lemongrass, gives it the aromatic and calming scent we all know. Lemongrass also has antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

At Herbal Kulen, we use the aerial leaves in our herbal tea and essential oil, while the stems are also used in our gin.
