Bitter Orange
CITRUS AURANTIUM
Also called Seville orange, this fruit is native to Southeast Asia and has since spread around the world. Its name comes from its distinctly bitter taste, although it can sometimes be sour. This unique bitterness adds another dimension of flavour to both our gin and herbal tea.
In our medicinal forest garden, we have gradually begun cultivating the plant. We carefully harvest the fruit when it is plump and fully mature to ensure the most aromatic scent and strongest flavour.
Traditionally, bitter orange has been used in medicine to treat digestive issues and nausea.
